Directly connect a vNIC to a vSwitch?..

Hi.

I am working with a Juniper Firefly virtual switch, and I would like to be able to tie one of the firefly vNICs directly to a host-only vSwitch port (like a trunk) and then use VLAN tagging to route traffic to the port groups on the switch.

Is this possible?

I currently have a host-only vSwitch 3 setup, and on it:

Network 1 - No VLAN tagging.

Network 2 - VLAN 102

Network 3 - VLAN 202

The Firefly is connected to Network 1, and I have a server connected to network 3, but one is not able to reach the other, I suspect because "Network 1" is not acting as a true trunk. What I think I need to do is somehow tie the port directly to vSwitch3, but I don't know if that's possible.

Thanks,

Richard.

...and RTFM solved my issue.

Simply set the VLAN ID for Network 1 to 4095, and it acts as a wildcard. I now have a working setup.
