I'm getting to the point where I'm ready to leave VMware Fusion and look for other alternatives.
It's very sad as I'm a long-time customer (since VMware Fusion 4 if I remember well) but the stall in which Fusion it's today doesn't leave a lot of choices.
The competition is way more ahead on all fronts (at least for the feature I need):
- Big Sur Guest Metal Acceleration for Graphics
- Full Support for M1 (not just "we will start running Linux and then we'll see")
- Bugs opened for months (e.g. Recovery partition is not available on Big Sur since almost the very first beta of Big Sur)
It's not just the lack of version updates and bug fixes it seems like the whole project is stalled.
I really wish to see some great news in the coming months.
