Cannot access VMware Workstation server from external network with a nondefault port

Error message:

Failed to connect to x.x.x.x:4422. x.x.x.x:4422 is an unknown server. VMware Workstation cannot connect to this server

Server Environment:

Windows 7 Enterprise SP1, VM Workstation 12.5.2, Shared VMs with port 4422

Client Environment:

Windows 7 Enterprise SP1, VM Workstation 12.5.2, internal IP address: 192.168.0.11, external IP address: let's say 1.2.3.4

Some troubleshooting steps I did:

1. If I install another VM workstation in the same internal network with the IP 192.168.0.12, I can connect to the VM workstation server via "192.168.0.11:4422".

2. If I change the shared VM port to 443, it can be accessed from both internal and external.

3. I also changed several other ports, such as 10089. Not worked.

4. I think the network should work, since I can see response if I "telnet 1.2.3.4 4422" from external.

PS: Using the default port 443 is not an acceptable solution since lack of public IP addresses.

Thanks in advance
