I am not strong at networking area. Can some one guide me on how to configure physical switch between pnics cables (esxi)
there are 2 physical switchs and there are 4 esxi host. every hosts has 4 nics. one embedded adaptor ( 2 nics) - one pci adaptor ( 2 nics ) . embedded adaptor with 2 nics to connect to physical switch 1 and pci adaptor with 2 nics connect to physical switchs 2 but in vcenter vswitch1 added the vmnic 0 and vmnic 2 . and vswitch 2 added vmnic 1 and vmnic 3 . is it true config ?
Yes, I know that there is no cross connection between your physical NICs and the physical switches, but if you look a level above you will see that the "cross connection" is done a vSwitch level, so if a physical switch (or network adapter) fail you will not loose connectivity. Take a look at the following image:
Assuming that vmnic0 and vmnic1 are from your embedded adapter and that vmnic2 and vmnic3 are from "pci" network adapter, your network design look good, since each vSwitch have vmnic from different network adapter and are connected to different physical switches.

What is the difference between ? . Is there a disadvantage ? because usually I saw cross connection on all vcenter infrastructures ( on different company's )
