Change product "Hostname or IP"

Is it possible to change a product's hostname/IP in the appliance?

I don't see the option in the GUI, but I hope someone can provide a SQL query that does the trick.

When the appliances were deployed, DNS was not working, so the vCenters were added by IP. I would like to change that to their FQDN's without loosing historical data!

Thanks

In the manage tab you can edit the hostname/IP

Is that a new feature in 3.4?

We're currently using 3.3 series, but looking into upgrading to 3.4.

In manage>products when I click edit, I can only change username/password, not the hostname/IP:

Has anyone found a solution to this? cannot get the server hostname to change from localhost.

I have tried to edit the /etc/HOSTNAME but it gets reset on every reboot.

I assume that its part of the actual VM configuration but it is not obvious is the VM configuration, anyone got this working?

Cheers

A.

The process below will let you make the desired changes:

  1. Open a console session to the vCLUM appliance and login as root (this is not the web portal)
  2. Run the following command: /opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_config_net

You should then get prompt as shown below. Follow the prompts to change your vCLUM appliance settings.

Hope this helps!

Ruben,

AFAIK , we need to de activate the old product added to Usage Meter. Then add the same product with the different name.
