Scanning a hot with update manager returns en error

I am scanning a ESXi 4.0.0 332073 with vCenter 4.1.0 and get the following eror.

Scan entity
scrichesx.wsdot.loc
The host returns esxupdate error
codes: 17. Check the Update
Manager log files and esxupdate
log files for more details.

Ive found posts relating to similiar errors but none with error code 17.

Any help is appreciated.

you have the latest version of VUM, and your patch repository is full?  You have downloaded the upgrade zip and imported into your VUM Server? Admin View--Configuration--Patch Download Settings --Import Patches.

...what build are you trying to update to, U1?  You can also just create a host patch baseline and attach that the the cluster or host, then scan and remediate.
