P2V sharepoint server a good idea?

first off, is sharepoint a good candidate to be virtualzied?

second, would it be okay to P2V using converter? I know I have to stop all services before running the conversion, any other pre-cautions??

I converted a MOSS 07 server with no problems. Both front-end and database(SQL) converted just fine. I have had no issues so far running MOSS on VM's.

And I suggest when you convert to VM, shutdown Sharepoint and the SQL server for sharepoint.
