Administrator Role has just Read-Only Permission

Hi out there,

after a crash of my VC-Server (2.01) the Administrator Role and any new User with that Role has only Read-Only Permission. I found an old information that there was a way in VC 1, but the DB-Structure changed in VC 2. Is there a way to set this right?

Have a nice weekend Smiley Wink

Did you try repair option?

Run VC installation again and choose repair

If you can go directly into the database, you can do the following:

Open your VC database and then open the VPX_ACCESS table.

There should be an entry for the Administrator principal.

Change the Role_ID to -1

The Entity_ID should be 1 and the Flag value should be set to 1 also.

Then restart the VirtualCenter Server service.

You should be all set after that.

Make a db backup first.

Yes, that did it. After the repair with overwriting all db-settings all data had been gone but the permission worked again. After the partial restore of the database everything was fine again.

Thanks for the good idea.
