Hi,
I have deployed Hyperic 5.8.2 and latest vCOPs Version Beta Build 2068011 release then installed Hyperic adapter in it.
From vCOPs I cannot see resources metrics I have picked in Hyperic, even if Hyperic is collecting data. Can someone explain why?
Thank you,
Frederic
You shouldn't be afraid
In hyperic UI go to > Administration > Monitoring Defaults
Look for your resource (e.g. Linux) > Edit Metric Template
Look for your metric > Indicator column = YES
BTW,
I can't see your metrics in my environment.
Are you talking about "Process" resource of Linux ?
Hi,
Which configuration of vCOPs are you using (single or multi slice) ?
Did you check hyperic adapter's connection to hyperic server with "Test" button ? If yes, can you see resources under hyperic instance in Administration > Environment Overview -> Adapter Instances > Hyperic Adapter Instance. Is "Collection Status" of that resources green ?
Hi Boris,
Communication with "Hyperic" works perfectly fine, tested!
What do you mean by single or multi slice vCOPs configuration?

Frederic
Hi,
Just to line up, you're using vCOPs 6.0, right ?
To check number of slices go to <vcops-ip>/admin.
Please attach screen of vCOPs with problematic metrics.
Hi,
Yes I am using "vCOPs 6.0 Version Beta Build 2068011".
Please find the admin page :

Frederic
Ok, so you're using a single slice (master)
Which metrics can't you see ?
Hi,
For example, I cannot find "Sybase 15.x SYB1_ALGO_UAT engine0 Process Cpu Total Time" in vCOPs, like this:

Frederic
From your screenshots looks like you can find your metric or I'm missing something ?
It is just an example, here Hyperic shows "Process Cpu Total Time" which is not the same metric vCOPs shows: "Pocess Cpu usage"
Maybe I was not clear enough
Do you have data in hyperic for that metric ("Process Cpu Total Time") ?
If you create a non default indicator metric as indicator and you don't have data on this metric, you won't see the metric in vCOPs.
You're right there is no data from Hyperic for "Process Cpu Total Time".
Another example, "Process Virtual Memory Size" has data but I cannot see the metric in vCOPs.
Is that metric an indicator ?
What is an interval time of hyperic adapter ?
How long did you wait ?
I am afraid to not be able to answer to "Is that metric an indicator?" because I do not know what is an indicator :smileyconfused:
The interval time is the default one. How to check?
I have been waiting for 5 days.
.

Hi Boris,
I found the way to set metrics as "Indicators" in Hyperic, thanks a lot.
You cannot see the metric I am takling about because it is a Sybase one, not a Linux one.
Let's see if the metrics I just switched as "Indicators" will be available in vCOPs
