vSphere 5.5 does not show any information of VMs on Virtual machines tab.

Hi vExpert, I'm using free ESXi host and vSphere client to manage hosts. I encountered the error that vSphere 5.5 does not show any information of VMs on Virtual machines tab as image:

The resources of every VM does not show consumed host cpu and active guest memory.

I already restart management services by SSH and console following this blog https://www.vladan.fr/how-to-restart-management-agents-on-esx-or-esxi-host/ .But nothing change. How can I fix this issue without reboot ESXi host?

This is standalone host you are using ? restart services on this with command services.sh restart and then check again.

Thanks vijayrana968

I'm using standalone host. I already run command services.sh restart but the issue still there. I'm using vSphere 5.5 update 3 build 3116895.

Hi vijayrana968,

As your instruction, I installed web client, but when I login to URL https://hostname/ui. There are no value on Host CPU and Host memory ( all VMs are power on).

I can't see any relevant info regarding this behavior when you have restart host and services with no luck. The version you have is 5.5 Update 3a. Next thing you can do is update it to Update 3b and check. You will have to shut down VMs.

SSH ESXI host and execute update with below command :

esxcli network firewall ruleset set -e true -r httpClient

esxcli software profile update -p ESXi-5.5.0-20151204001-standard \

-d https://hostupdate.vmware.com/software/VUM/PRODUCTION/main/vmw-depot-index.xml

esxcli network firewall ruleset set -e false -r httpClient

Reboot to complete the upgrade

Currently we are using free license for ESXi host. Can we upgrade to standard version without any license require? On page download free license of VMware, version 5.5 Update 3b is not available.

After research on internet, I know that we will can not do anything on ESXi host when we don't have license. We will loose all VMs.
