esx 3.5 HADRS cluster

Hi,

I have recently installed ESX 3.5 on 2 of my HP proliant DL 380 G4 servers and one server I am using for VC 2.5. After configuring HA and DRS cluster, I am getting the message in the summary tab as " configuration issue :- Host (hostname) currently has no management network redundancy. I have created 2 V switches. One for service console and one for vmkernel and Virtual machines. Not sure what I am doing wrong. VMotion works fine. Any suggestions ?

Thanks

If the ESX host is not overcommited DRS will not move the virtual machine back. Try putting some load on your virtual machines and you will probably see the DRS in action.

You have only one Network adapter connected to the vswitch with the service console. That is why it is complaining about redundancy.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. By the time, I wrote this email, I checked some other blogs and found the answer. The error did go away after I added another nic to the service console. However, my DRS is not working properly I beleive. My HA works quite well. After the reboot of one of my hosts, the VMs should come back to it. However, it stays with the second host which was not rebooted. Any suggestion in what I am doing wrong with the configuration. Also, DRS is set up to partiallly automatic. So I should have received some recommendations while I rebooted my host but I did not and the VMs were migrated to another host without my intervention. Not sure why this happening.
