running freebsd

Hi,

i have install freebsd on my vm. My esx is running 3.5, know that this is not official support and I failed to install vmtools. Now my vm facing nic performance issue, may i know have any work around for this.

Lai,

If you're not running X, you may not need the tools. Some customers have had better experience using the e1000 (FreeBSD's 'em' driver) virtual NIC. Search the archive for more information on how to do this. If you are running FreeBSD 7.0 or later, you can rebuild the FreeBSD kernel with 'le' driver. It should work better than the default 'lnc' driver.
