VMware tools upgrade

Hello,

I have upgraded on my ESX to v 3.5. after that some of my VMs (basically my windows 2000 servers) started hanging. upgrading the VM tools resolved that isue. my problem is that I have 5 ESX server with 100 + VM running on them. is there a way to upgrade the VM tools on those Vm without habving to visit each and everyone of them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

To manually upgrade VMware Tools:

1 Launch the VI client and log in to the VirtualCenter server.

2 Select the Inventory > Hosts and Clusters view.

3 Select the host or cluster that contains the virtual machines you want to upgrade.

4 Select the Virtual Machines tab.

5 Select the virtual machines you want to upgrade and power them on.

6 Right‐click your selections and select Install/Upgrade Tools.

Keep in mind this may cause your VM's to reboot at the end.

The .pdf attached says to power off the VM's but that does not work. You can't upgrade the tools if the VM is powered off.
