VMWare Tools on Linux Kernel 2.6.27.10

I have seen a previous post mentioning the problem of the vmmemctl module. I am running Debian and the tools fail to build the vmmemctl with the following error: struct proc_dir_entry' has no member named ‘get_info'

etung reported that: We're tracking this as PRs 309764 and 310906 on Aug.1 But I have not found any solution yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Robert

Hello,

Look at http://www.astroarch.com/wiki/index.php/VMware_Tools#Merged_Tools as a possible solution to your problem. Use of the OpenSource tools mixed with the VMware Tools from VMware tend to work fairly well with the newer kernels.
