Hello friends
I have a 64 bit processor Server Hosting several Virtual Machines. The Server is running the 32 bit Version of Windows Server 2003. My question is. Can I run a 64 bit processor version of the Virtual Machine with my Host OS running the 32 bit version. Hope to get some feed back and Thanks for any Help.
What VMware product are you using?
See knowledgebase article 1901 for the hardware requirements for running 64-bit guests.
Nope.

I am not second guessing your question, but doesnt the Virtual Machine uses the Host Hardware.
Sorry your Answer..

It does not matter if you are running a 32 bit host OS or a 64 bit OS.
All you need is a supported 64 bit processor that is listed in the KB 1901
I hadn't come across that article. I called Dell Support for a 6850 that supports 64 bit apps. Its running Windows 2003 with Server on top (test system). When I try to create a 64 bit host, and boot it, I get a "There is a cpu type mismatch. The CPU can not be supported on this hardware".
If I install Windows Server 2003 64bit edition, it works fine. Dell told me that it had to do with the host os. Is that not the case, if not, that would rock.
If your CPU is on the VT supported list?
You also need to enable VT in the BIOS.
This is optional for the IHV's, try upgrading to latest BIOS.
