Sounds like another VM has a hold on the VMDK.
What do you use to backup your VMs? Do you use a Backup Proxy VM with "Hot Add" that adds the VMDK of your VMs to the Proxy? Is the VMDK still added to this Backup Proxy VM?
so thanks
but how can understand which VM has hold on the VMDK ?
i use veeam for backup that vm and my backup proxy role is on my veeam backup & replication
(my veeam backup server is on physical server )
now my vm can not power on
what do i have to do ?
Have a look at the settings of you veeam proxy server, see if the vDisk of the VM needing to be consolidated it attached to it.
Also, have a look at https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1003656
And this might be the same issue as you are having https://vbrownbag.com/2015/12/the-infamous-disklock-error/
thanks
but my proxy server is not a vm. veeam server is physical and proxy role has been assigned to that (veeam backup ) server
in this mode vm disk will be hot add to physical server ?
