Esxi/vcenter 6.7 u3

May anyone else has this as well?

since i upgraded from 6.0 to 6.7 u3 (tested u2 as well),.... i have strange sloweness

- hostclient ui login take long and info not really showing up. may minutes later. But can wait each time clicking around sevwral minutes.

- edit setting on an vm,.... takes often up to 10m. Stuck at 13% and then jump further

- svmotion starts 28% and remains long time. Often i need to remove vmkernel and readd,... then works 50/50%.

servers are supermicro based and supported for 6.7.

in the logs i dont see helpfully infos.

vcenter is based on windows. Planning to change to 6.7,..... pain is just there is no migration wizard from 6.7 windows vcenter.

best regards

max

Hi,

Create backup from vCenter database and other necessary information.

Then try reinstall vCenter.

Something must be hardly related to Esxi.   i upgraded an Node from 6.0, 13003896   to latest 6.7 U3 Build  and suffered with extreme sloweness.

svmotion, vmotion, edit settings,...... edit vmkernel,...   once bounced hostd/vpxa service   it takes ages to come back.   Loggings not give good infos,.....

it does read similar to https://vinfrastructure.it/2019/09/performance-issue-with-vsphere-6-7u3-on-dell-servers/

Just difference is it's also with 6.7 U2.  HW is fully supported.    with that  6.0, 13003896  seems was not that Case

Which one of log files did you check?! Can you run the following command in the ESXi shell when your tasks are stuck?

tail -100 /var/log/hostd.log   (Please try this for vpxa.log and also syslog.log too)

Also you can migrate your windows-based vCenter server to the appliance mode from the VCSA installation wizard (third option is the migration solution)
