Hi there,
Im new to Vcloud Air and i have an Vcloud air Account so i can figure some things out. I deployed a Linux machine and i want a internet connection to it. i Followed the following link.
Connecting a Virtual Machine to Receive Data from the Internet Tutorial - VMware vCloud Air - UK
After this i right clicked the VM and i chose connect to the internet. So far so good... But when i want to execute an apt-get install i get an DNS error cannot fetch... so i looked at some network documentation from vmware how to configure the DNS. In this document i followed the instructions to get to the Vcloud director Org. network settings.. Here i should be able to select the DNS gateway option but this is greyed out.. See screenshot
I allready have removed the complete VM so i have nou VM anymore connected to the default network see below
Can somebody can tell me whats going wrong?
Thanks a lot!

Hi ,
As mentioned below Use Default Gateway. That option is used only when you want to leverage DNS relay option. As of now,DNS relay is not configurable for vCloud Air customer, hence it is grayed out. However it has nothing to do with the DNS error that you are getting inside the guest O/S.Ensure Guest O/S DNS is configured properly and it is resolvable. Please update Primary/Secondary DNS entries in default routed network.
What should i fill in as Primary/secundary DNS? I dont have a DNS server overhere? I just need DNS resolving in de Guest OS. So when i connect a VM to the default network in needs to get an DNS server (automaticly) so i can ping Google for example.. Can i use the 8.8.8.8 Google DNS?
PS I only want DNS resolving no difficult stuff.. its only for one hour benchmark
Yes,you can certainly update Google DNS .
