Unable to remove uplinks from distributed switch

Hi,

I'm not able to remove UP_HMMCMES1_1. I want to use only UP_HMMCMES1 & UP_HMMCMES2

Error message is that the resource '285' is in use. The Uplink name UP_HMMCMES2 is in use by the connected uplink port 285 on host ... But I don't remove UP_HMMCMES2 but i try to remove UP_HMMCMES1_1 which is not related with remove uplink.

Any suggestion?

Thanks, Ales

Yes, this works. But these steps are about removing physical NIC. I have trouble with removing uplinks on DS, not physical NICs

Thanks, Ales

hi you can go too one of your Host configuration on Cluster and

  1. Log in to the vSphere Client and select a host in the inventory pane.
  2. Click the Configuration tab and click Networking.
  3. Select the vSphere Distributed Switch view.
  4. Click Manage Physical Adapters.
  5. Click Remove to remove the uplink from the vSphere distributed switch.
  6. Click OK.

Hi, same as above, there is no physical adapters, only uplinks. I want to remove UP_HMMCMES1_1 (2,3,4) etc and leave UP_HMMCMES1 & 2

No I don't have any physical network connected to this uplink, Doesn;t matter if I try to remove 1_1 or 1_2 or other uplinks without physical NIC, still the same error with 285 port.

I'm having the same problem when trying to remove some old uplink ports from the dvSwitch. Has anyone found a solution?
