I everyone,
until yesterday my windows guest was working pretty good, but today it did not start; i cannot even see the vmware bios splash image at boot, the only effect i get when I power on is a black screen for about one second, and then the vmware workstation main window appears again.
I did not change anything in my host operating system (same kernel, no important updates) except I have uninstalled the nvidia driver, and i am using the "nv" driver at the moment (I have a problem with libglx.so).
this is the logfile in the virtual machine directory (the last lines):

I run debian sid x86-64 with 2.6.22 kernel as host and win xp pro 32-bit as guest on an external hard drive.
Hi, your idea helped to solve the problem. I first deleted the noexec flags in udev and udev-mtab scripts. That did not immediately solve but then I also updated the udev package and than it was working again. Thank you guys
I confirm: the last udev package in debian unstable does not mount /dev 'noexec' anymore
