Changing disks (grow/shrink pre-allocated etc)

Hi, I read the details on using vdiskmanager and using the -r and -t2 option i had hoped to end up with a pre-allocated disk, my plan was then to grow it. What I ended up with was a new disk and it is not obvious how I should get the VM to use the new pre-allocated one. Perhaps I should have kept the same name as the old disk?

Can anyone help?

Now go into Workstation and edit your VM's settings. Remove the existing hard disk, and then add a new one. Say "use existing" and browse to the new disk you converted.
