moving from windows host to linux host

Does anyone have any experience with moving workstation pro 12 guest from a windows host to a linux host?

If so, can it be done?

Thanks for your time.

Hi,

Yes it is no problem at all.

Your VMs will work same under a Linux host as they did under a windows host.

The only problem is if you link to a resource that is explicitly windows only.

Eg. A share under a numbered drive won't work, nor does a cdrom on D:\

Your VM will mention this on booting. BTW, when it asks "did you move or copy" then choose "move" as otherwise your virtual hardware will get new hardware ID's and for windows that means triggering activation.
