I need a VM that is accessible for a test froma another PC in LAN, but cannot access anything on the network.
Above all, it must not be accessible to the Host PC and its LAN network.
I was wondering what is the safest and easiest solution to implement.
I don't think I can use VNC or RDP if the VM is in a Host-only network.
The Host PC has a second, unused network card; I could associate the VM network with this NIC and give it a recognizable IP, but I wouldn't want to expose the Host PC.
For what the test is, it is enough for me that once logged into the VM OS, the user opens any application, even a simple notepad and then closes the session.
The VM could therefore be a Win10/1 Pro (without activation, because it is temporary) or Linux (Debian or Ubuntu).
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Host PC: Win 11 Pro
VM Ware Workstation: 17.5.0 build-22583795
PC in LAN (for test): Ubuntu 22.04.3
Put them both on a separate subnet from the LAN.
I do that all the time, I set the VM for bridged and assign a static IP.
