So, I have 6 guests running on my host. They are all having manually assigned IP addresses of starting from 192.168.99.150 through 192.168.99.155.
My host has an IP address of 192.168.99.100.
My host is only PC connected to the switch and the switch is not connected to any upload link(internet).
I have configured my Guests to have bridged connection so they can directly connected on the hardware switch.
Here is the issue that I am having right now, when I ping any of my guest IP from the host, it shows about 1ms response time.
but when I ping my host IP from any of the guest, it shows request timed out.
Can anyone give me a solution to solve this issue?
Thank you.
OK, so I re installed all the guests with new workstation 11 hardware configuration, now it all works perfect.
Maybe something wasn't properly set up last time when I had issue.
Guests and Host Network configuration are look like follow:
Host
IP address: 192.168.99.100
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.99.1
DNS: -
Guests
IP addresses: 192.168.99.150 to 155
Subnet: 255.255.255.0 all same
gateway: 192.168.99.1 all same
DNS: - all same
Can you confirm that the host's firewall settings allow pings (incoming ICMP traffic)? Newer Windows versions block ICMP by default.
André
yes I turned off firewall on both machines but its not only the pinging, the whole network traffic between guest and host is completely not going through.at all.
I wonder what have I done wrong with a setting.
I must try to reinstalling workstation, if it will resolve the issue.
