HELP - VMWARE keeps setting my virtualDev to vlance.... make it stop!

I need some help here. I am trying to load a system that requires the Ethernet Interface to utalize the e1000 virtual dev... When I set that in the config file and boot the OS before the OS even begings to load VMWARE keeps setting the virtual dev back to "vlance"

How can I make that stop? I need to stay with what i am telling it

ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000"

ethernet1.virtualDev = "e1000"

ethernet2.virtualDev = "e1000"

As soon as I start the VM the above changes to:

ethernet0.virtualDev = "vlance"

ethernet1.virtualDev = "vlance"

ethernet2.virtualDev = "vlance"

What can I do to stop that from happening? I am on version 6.0.0 build 45731.

Thanks

Do not edit the .vmx file while the VM is open in the Workstation UI.

Close the VMware application and edit the .vmx file. You may also have to delete any *.vmx.lck directory in the virtual machine directory.

Are you certain the VM is powered off, not just suspended?

I believe we are good here. Thanks so much. I did have VMWARE open (VM was powered off but that TAB was active...

I also had a lock file so I removed that and closed VMWARE before editing the file. I just booted the system and the interfaces stayed at "e1000".

Thanks for the help.
