Using VMPlayer I am running the lamp-1.0.5-x86 appliance. With my Host machine connected to the network the guest machine gets an IP address from the DHPC Server. I can then ftp/web into the LAMP machine.
However when I boot the lamp appliance when the host machine is not connected to the network the Lamp Appliance gets no ip-address. I want to staticly configure the networking on both the Host and the Guest so they can talk regardless of what network I am connected to. But I have been meeting with limited success. Also I really don't want the Guest to have access to outside networks if at all posible, just the Host. it is simply a test environment.
1. What networking setting should I use
2. Which VMware Network Adapter should I be configuring for this on the Host (WinXp) machine? VMnet1 or VMnet8?
3. What should I configure my Guest's ifconfig to?
Any and all asistance would be greatly appriciated.
