To enable Copy and Paste between host and guest, you need to make sure vmwaretools is installed.
btw, which version of Workstation are you running?

I am running vmware player 6.0.Did not find an option to turn on and off copying and pasting.

I am new to vmware and very confused. Is this copy and paste problem known to the community? Am I the only who is experiencing it?

OK, what are you trying to copy/paste? Copy/paste only works with text... files can only be drag/dropped.
