2 guests on a single host

Hi

I'm very new to vmware - please be gentle!

I have VMWare Player 3.1.2

I have a windows7 host for which I created two Win2008 Guests. I need to configure the network adapters so that the guests can communicate with each other (and preferably also the host for copying files). They don't need network connectivity beyond this. My intent is to create a lab environment where I can play around with SQL Server Replication. The host is not connected to a LAN.

I have configured the network adapter of both VMs as "Host-only". When I run ipconfig on the 1st guest I see it is assigned ipv4 address of 192.168.19.128, the 2nd guest has been assigned the ip address of 192.168.19.129. However, neither guest can ping the other.

Could anyone please let me know what I need to change?

Many thanks,

Rob.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Make sure that the firewalls on the host or guest aren't in the way.

Good Luck!
