I'm running an OSX Big Sur 11.5.2 guest in an OSX Big Sur 11.6 host on my Macbook pro. I've been having issues with vim. Specifically, it responds intermittently to my inputs. It usually requires 10 or so attempts to enter command mode (":") or exit insert mode ("esc"). Sometimes it will also receive input multiple times, so I'll end up typing the same character a dozen times in a row on accident. It makes vim essentially unusable on the VM. I use vim in iterm2, however I can reproduce the issue in Terminal, and it happens both on the local machine and via SSH. The only software I really notice this issue with is vim, however, it's possible that it is more general/not specific to vim. I'm really not even sure which software's settings to begin fiddling with to try and debug this issue, so any direction is appreciated.
