I just can't seem to be able to set the screen to 1024x600 - although I can set it to all sorts of other weird resolution.
At first I tried to set it by resizing the window using the mouse on the corner - but it just snaps to resolutions around it without allowing me to set it precisely to 1024x600 (I got 1025x599!) - and its a lumsy way to do it.
Then I tried xrandr, and that fails:
$ xrandr --newmode "1024x600" 49.00 1024 1072 1168 1312 600 603 613 624 -hsync +vsync
$ xrandr --addmode default 1024x600
$ xrandr --output default --mode 1024x600
xrandr: Configure crtc 0 failed
Anybody have an idea as to how I might be able to do this?
