Hi there,
After my motherboard crashed I got a new one in a 2009 recycled Mac Pro whose details are hereafter:
--
Mac Pro (early 2009)
Mojave 10.14.6
Processor 3,33 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
Memory 48Go 1333 MHz DDR3
Boot drive Mac Pro SSD
Graphic AMD Radeon HD 7xxx 3 Go
--
Kindly find attached the error messages I get when I try to start my VM.
Here comes some information:
--
1- First Error message:
This VM seems to be currently open.
If this VM is not open, click "Take possession" in order to own it. If not, click on "Cancel" in order not to damage it. Configuration file:
/Users/macpro/Virtual Machines.localized/New.vmwarevm/New.vmx.
After clicking "Take possession" I then get the following error message:
2- This VM might have been either copied or moved. in order to set up some management functions and network functions, VMW Fusion must know whether you moved or copied this VM. If you don't know the answer please click "I have copied it".
We can choose either "I have moved it", "cancel" or "I have copied it".
What should I do?
Would you be so kind as to give me a hand?
Thanks in advance for your kind help.
Cheers,
Philippe
Hi again,
I have clicked "I have copied it" and it worked:)))).
Thanks anyway!

In such a case, proceed with "I have moved it".
Reason: "I have copied it" will assign a new UUID, and MAC address to the VM, to ensure that it is unique in the network. Since you've only replaced the host hardware, there's no need to reconfigure the VMs.
