I made a boot camp partition and installed Office 2003 and activated it. Now, when running it as a virtual machine in VMWare, it asked me to activate Office again. I did so and it says it's already been activated and cannot be activated. This is a new copy of Office 2003 I bought to use on my mac. Very frustrating!
Any suggestions in terms of getting Office 2003 to work in both directly in Boot Camp and a VMWare Fusion virtual machine? Do I have to chooose one or the other?
Same problem with Office 2007.
After install the latest updates for Office this problem still exists.
Are there suggestions on the vmware side how to solve this?
regards,
Christian
With Office 2007 you will experience the same issue... even if you have a MSDN key with which you have to activate; it keeps asking for activation from bootcamp and vmware (over and over again).
This has been reported earlier and seems to be an issue with the way Office handles the underlying activation mechanism. VMware is aware of this though.
I agree though that this should be fixed before GA.
Ciao, Andreas
Is this still an issue?
Yes. Anybody know the fix?
I need this as well.
There isn't one I know of apart from using a VLK version of Office.
