Can't connect to External Drive after Catalina update

As described in the title, I updated to Catalina last night and lost connectivity to my external drive thru Fusion 11.5.

Also, USB sticks do not connect. They show up in the USB and BLUETOOTH menu and I can "Connect", but they don't show up in Folder. I can also "Unconnect".

On prior version, I used to get a beep, beep when the drive connected. On this setup, a few times I would get numerous beeping, but then nothing. I also seen a message once or twice that I could not connect because host was using the drive.

Does anyone have a solution?

thanks for the links, but unfortunately the popular solution did not work as I'm not getting any messages in the Privacy tab saying USB is not loading. My USB devices are listed within Fusion (under Virtual Machine, USB & Bluetooth) and I can connect and disconnect them in the menu. They just don't connect.
