Anybody know of anything that would cause the items tab to populate terribly slowly based on increasing number of machines? It takes like 70 seconds to populate a full page of machines.
We have consistent slowness in the Items list in two environments. We have a case open to engineering. Just curious if anybody else has come across this? Did index rebuilds and statistics optimization to no avail.
VCAC 6.1
Separate MS SQL 2008 Standard VCACDB (IaaS database) on Server 2012
So the condition was:
VCAC 6.2 (existed in 6.1 as well)
If you have Machine Items with Entitled ASD Resource Actions on them, the Items tab list presents slowly. It doesn't matter what the ASD Resource Action does... just the mere fact of them being available (entitled) as actions on the Machine Item degrades the list speed. More Resource Actions = slower. More Machines with at least one Resource Action = slower. At 70 seconds, the list no longer will return (internal timeout).
Engineering was able to duplicate the issue, and we requested a private Hotfix for VCAC 6.2.
Hotfix vcac_62_HF_1376341 was provided to us and it completely fixed the issue. It consists of a replacement ResourceDataProviderFactory.class and platform-content-6.2.0.jar files.
If you have similar conditions happening in your environment, feel free to reference this Hotfix as a possible remediation.

"It looks like this is an issue that our development team has come across already and has implemented a fix in the vCAC 6.2 codebase. They are investigating whether this is a fix that can be easily implemented in vCAC 6.1."
We have upgraded to 6.2 successfully but the Items Tab performance is still abysmal in all three of our environments. We are opening a ticket... is anybody else experiencing this condition?
We have regular database maintenance happening, but it literally takes 30-50 seconds to show a small number of machines.

Thanks for sharing. We just upgraded and I was complaining that when I interacted with the items it seemed WAY slow. I'll bet this has something to do with it as we have ASD entitled actions.
