Stop vRA/vRO services so no new user requests can be submitted

Is there an "easy" way to stop vRA/vRO services temporarily so no new user requests can be submitted -- say, before running a stored procedure on the SQL DB?

I see the extensive procedure for shutting down the entire distributed vRA installation in the Managing vRealize Automation publication.  I'm wondering if I really need to do all that if I just want turn off new requests for a few minutes while I run a (VMware-supplied) stored procedure on the SQL DB.

I was thinking of stopping these services on both vRA/vRO appliances. Wondering if that's OK -- or a bad idea:

service vcac-server stop

service vco-configurator stop

service vco-server stop

Thank you!

Well, it depends on the experience you want... I would disable all "Services" so that there is nothing in the catalog and then run the procedure.

After it has completed, enable them again.

Thank you, Grant. Does stopping all services here basically mean to click "Shutdown" for each appliance on its vRA Administrator Management Interface (on the System tab)?

Sorry, that wasn't a clear response at all now that I read it again.

Navigate to Administration > Catalog Management > Services.

Go through each of them and set to Inactive. This is a pretty clean way to do it - users won't be able to see any items in the Catalog this way, and you could (if on 7.2) set the Home portlet to display a maintenance message.

The alternative is to stop the services on the appliances and windows boxes as you've outlined and then restart them.
