i have built physical windows 2003 with fc card installed and ready to install vcb for my 2 esx 3.5 hosts. i checked out vcb guide but still confuse how to implement it. can you tell me what is my next steps and what needs to do to configure it successful. i am planning to use vcb backup my vm to remote file server if this is possible if not what do i need.
Here's a doc I created for BackupExec --> http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-2770
Even though it is for BackupExec, it outlines the steps to setup VCB, regardless of the backup software. Also, if you are going to VMWorld, check out my breakout session - BC2497 VMware Consolidated Backup - Report from the Trenches

The first thing you need to make sure is that the LUNs that you have allocated to ESX are also zoned to the vcb proxy server. The vcb server should be able to see the disks, even though it can't read them without the vcb framework. You'll also need to make sure automatic mounting of the disks is disabled, which is part of the vcb guide. Once this is done, and the vcb framework is installed, you should be able to connect through vc and use the admin guide to walk you through that process.
