This is excellent! just what I needed.

One question, should the ESX installation work in graphical mode or text mode only? I've just tried the graphical mode and hit a Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :1

Thanks for this very useful resource.

Update.... installing in text mode works perfectly.

I now have a test ESX server... woohoo!

I didn't have any trouble using the graphical installation. I wonder what the difference is? What type of mac were you installing on?

iMac (24") - with the upgrade to NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT

I may try it again later, but was happy enough to get it going in text mode...

Further update: It appears it was my own problem, I was actually using a 3.0.0 CD, thinking it was the latest version (doh!), once I downloaded the latest ISO off the website, the graphic install works great!!
