ESXi key to ESX host

Is legal or illegal to apply ESXi key to ESX host ???

I am not sure what you are asking but I assume you want to know if you can use a ESXI registration key to register an ESX server. I am not positive but I do not believe it would work as they are different products. As for the legality of it assuming that the key worked I would say that it is not the intended use of the key and therefor against some terms of service, however as I said earlier I doubt the key will work.

Hello,

Not being a lawyer we can not answer that one. However you need to retrieve the license file and if it is host based, it will be for ESXi not ESX. If its server based it should only be used by ESXi. But you need to read the EULA for ESXi.
