Hi All,
Trying to figure out what is the next best path.
I have a VCP5 exam that is expired. I am authorized to take the VCP550D Delta exam but I have noticed that this exam is being discontinued and cannot register after 3/15/17.
I also have authorization for VCP6-DCV Delta Exam, but I am wondering can I take it after expiration of VCP5 if I have exam authorization?
I have also completed VMware vSphere: Optimize and Scale [V6] class a year ago.
Any recommendation what would be the best path next?
I would go for a VCP6 exam because this will upgrade your certification and not just renew it, and not VCP5. The VMware Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV) page shows you what to do in path 3: If you hold an expired VCP certification for any solution track:

That's correct. If your VCP5 is expired, you essentially have to start over to become certified again. Since you took the vSphere 6 Optimize & Scale class, taking the two exams for VCP6-DCV certification would be my suggestion.
Thanks, that's what I was worried that I have to take the class again and start re certification again.
Does it make a difference that I took this class a year ago?
No. There's no deadline between taking a class and taking an exam.
Great thank you!
There's a new VCP6.5-DCV exam out at the end of April.
