Hi all,
Just passed vcp, now that my concepita are fresh in my mind I'd like to begin the vcap patch. Since I currently I work for a CSP, my natural choice would be vcap-cia. But this is a quite new exam and, maybe for this reason guides are lacking.
I attended the VMw cloud videos, and followed some of the links provided by the blueprint, but everything is so.... unlinked, not organized... I had a look at the interesting brownbag AndreTG video: this smthg I'm looking for, but it's only about the very first part of BP. I also checked Trainsignal, they answered that don't have Andy plan for this exam.
Do you alla have any advice/resource for a good preparation?
Notice that I deployed a complete lab thanks to Autolab, and that I work daily on a vCDirector environment.
Thanks a lot
Raffaello
As written are just PDF (same from the official documentation page). For a list of them visit:

(Sorry for several mistakes - I've been writing using a stupid tablet...)
The LinkedIn group has some information
Here is a blog posting listing some of the other blog postings about CIA.

You are right, the exam has only been out a few months so support is slim right now. On the upside, it is a good way to differentiate yourself.
Hi Joshua,
Thanks for your tips. I'm already member of the LinkedIn group, and I check daily vinfrastructure blog site. But I'm glad to hear that my research was in the right direction
I'll keep looking, and thanks again for your words
Raffaello
In the next days I will also post my experience in this kind of exam.
IMHO is really good (probably better compared to DCA). But really challenging in time management.
A... maybe stupid question but... guides available in PDF during the exam are... "virtual" on screen, not paper-made on desk, right? Just to be prepared and switch and switch on the (little) monitor :smileyconfused:
Yes PDFs just like DCA.

EXactly what I needed. A little bit worried about the 32 labs, DCA was 26, but I really appreciate your advises in your blog, Andrea. So waiting for part 3 in brownbag
Labs are huge compared to DCA... but I've not completed all and I've passed...
So try to focus on each task, and just skip it if you don't know or if you estimate too much time (in this case you can try to resolve it later).

You and anyone else who does vCloud portions is more than welcome to do a slot like Andrea did on the EMEA vBrownbag for either of the VCAP-CIA or CID

Do you think cells load balancer configuration could be part of the exam?
I'm my experience scope of the exam is within VMware only.
As one can configure load balancing using vShield Edge Gateway (vCNS) Load balancing, I won't be surprised.

From the blueprint:
Oh right, I was still at vCD 1.5. I didn't remember vCNS as a load balancer. So, my prevoius question will be "vCNS as cells load balancer configuration could be part of the exam" and the answer is "yes", I suppose.
Thank you
