Using vum to patch windows guest OS

Hi,

We are running vsphere 4.0 U1 (on vcenter U1) with VUM.

We are using vum since esx 3.5 to patch our esx hosts without a problem.

Now we are trying to patch all our vm's using vum.

The patching itself works fine, but apparantly not all latest patches available in Microsoft Update are installed using vum. We are missing about 10-20patches on the vm's.

Our patch baseline contains everything from microsoft, even manually selected and the repository is checked every day for new patches.

Is it possible to add another microsoft repository like Microsoft update to install other missing patches? With around 500 vm's a manual microsoft update is not really an option. We tried also with wus, but we want to be in control when the patching can be started.

Thx

David

I just saw on the shavlik site protect7.shavlik.com that in the last available xml I can see some of my missing patches (XML data version = 1.1.4.1380 Last modified on 10/12/2010) :

Added MS10-071: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (2360131)

Does this mean vum is using another xml file to download his patches?
