Hi,all,
I am facing same issue.I have vmware workstation 10.1 installed on Windows 7 Ent SP1 x64. I checked Virtualization is Enable in the BIOS. I ran vmware-guest64check utility and it says "this host is capableof running a 64-bit guest operating system under this vmware product". But any time i try to create a new VM, there is a message "the virtual machine is configured for 64-bit guest operating systems. However, 64-bit operation is not possible. This host supports Intel VT-x, but Intel VT-x is disabled." and the VM creation is cancelled. I also checked if there is a most recente version of BIOS, but the last one is already installed.
I attached the log file.
Thanks for help.

After enabling virtualization in the BIOS, did you completely power off the system?
It is working now!
I had done only restart, after power off the issue is gone.
Many thanks
Hi ,
I've installed a virtual "Windows 2008 R2 standard" on my "Macbook pro" successfully ( I have fusion 5 on my Macbook) .
Now I'm trying to install ESX 5.0 on my virtual windows 2008 and getting below error (i'm using Vmware workstation 10.0.1 on windows 2008) :
=================================================
This virtual machine is configured for 64-bit guest operating systems. However, 64-bit operation is not possible.
This host does not support Intel VT-x.
For more detailed information, see http://vmware.com/info?id=152.
=================================================
After getting this error, I tried to install same ESX iso through fusion on my Mac OS and result was successful so I think my CPU support VT-x !!
Anyone knows how can I install ESX on my virtual windows 2008? what could be the problem here ?
Thanks in advance
u have to go into your bois to change a few settings forgot wot they are called did mine this morning now my vm player vertical h and something else think (dx)
Go to the VM settings under Fusion and check "Enable hypervisor applications in this virtual machine".

same problem here...
I cannot understand why
VT-x is disabled in your BIOS.
VT-x is not enabled. Your screenshot only shows that VT-x is supported, but not that it is enabled.
If you have recently enabled VT-x in your BIOS, have you power-cycled your system since making that change?
See Trouble-shooting Intel VT-x Issues for more information.
I will recheck my BIOS, I have a VAIO FZ31S
I had modified the byte to enable the VT-x before, Sony hide this BIOS setting
I will report the result soon
Thanks
[SOLVED]
I finally hacked the BIOS, and now the virtual machine is working properly
thank you jmattson for helping me with log
You appear to have VT-x disabled in your system BIOS. Go into the BIOS, enable VT-x (or Virtualization Technology), save your changes, power down your system, and power it back on again.
Thanks @AyedRamadeenAyedRamadeen Thanks Bro My Problem is solved i am go into bios and enable my visualization.
I encountered this issue with:
VMWare Workstation 12 Professional running on Microsoft Windows 10 Professional.
The resolution was to Uninstall Hyper-V as it is a installed default Windows feature.
Hi ,
If you have an ESXI which is capable of Intel -VT / Hardware prefetch and if you enabled that in the server BIOS . you are good to go , hope this already accomplished.
Some old server such as IBM X3650 , you need take caution , I have seen that Intel VT / Hardware prefetch only enable on these servers after the poweroff , remove the power cable , wait for 5 minutes and then attach the power cable and power on the ESXI.
If not still ESXI will say Intel -VT is not enabled. We have completed the ESXI part now .
Now if you need to enable Intel VT on the VM's , you need to do below things .
Previous versions of the applications used to work with basic settings using vshere Client ,
Upgrade VM H/W version to latest of the ESXI , I have upgraded to 10
Enabled in Intel VT in BIOS using vsphere client ,
This is not enough , you need to expose this bits to guest OS , this feature is only available in web client . Power On the VM . you are set .
