Set the firewall profile to allow to all the 3 types Public, Private and Domain for VMware Horizon View framework and PCOIP server on Connection Server and give a try.  That would resolve your issue.  Because your machine may be configured to you public or private network and firewall profile might have configured to allow Domain network.

This just started happening on a virtual machine that is dedicated to one user; she's been logging into it for months now with no issues, but today the error about "The Display protocol for this desktop is currently blocked by a firewall." came up.  She also accesses a computer from a floating pool and has no problems with that one.  I've gone into the machine as admin and can see nothing wrong; the only thing I did change was upgrade Symantec Endpoint Protection; we just underwent an upgrade to the server and clients and that machine was missed.  After a reboot, the issue persists.  I'm grasping at straws here because of the spontaneous nature of the error.

Does Symantec Endpoint Protection have a firewall or IDS/IPS component that it blocking the communication?
