Recomp

HI all.

I think I know the answer to this but I wanted to make sure, so here I go, when we are recomping( I don't know if that is even a word) a pool, does that recomp is also pushed to the turnoff machine, like it deletes it recomp to a new machine with the changes but on turnoff state.?

Recomposing for our older Linked clone technology will push a new image to any clones you select, regardless of power state being on or off.  Basically, the new snapshot that you chose becomes the parent for the clones and Horizon schedules a rebuild of the virtual disk layer for each desktop as part of the recompose process.

With Instant clones, the process is much the same, but instead of linking directly to the golden image, depending on the provisioning mode, either a new parent will be created or the Instant clone itself will be completely updated.

Keep in mind, either process will result in the data saved locally on the clone being, so make sure it's saved off to a network location before starting!
