Manual on 3D support

I would like to test 3d performance in out current View 5 environment. Is there some kind of manual/howto/whitepaper, or a blog post somewhere out there explaining how I can test Solidworks 3d performance on our current environment?

Will adding some kind of card (APEX?) to our servers help is the performance is not good enough, or is the next step dedicated blades (which is not an option budget wise )?

Yes, I have read the thread, but it is not clear to me if they are working with blades, or some kind of offloading system to do the 3D rendering...
