we've been fighting with persona management syncing issues ever since we started testing it.
The syncing issues ranged from whole profile not being loaded to partially loading the profile to blank taskbar icons etc...
To rule out our storage on which the persona shares are located, and any other misconfiguration, we now moved to a brand new storage and created new persona shares and setup/configured everything in accordance to the View Persona Management documentation and followed the best practices.
But still...same syncing problems as before. Searching Google for help, I found that we're not the only ones experiencing these kind of syncing problems and most of the posts regarding these problems ( in this and other forums) are unanswered.
Here's our configuration:
OS: Windows 7 64 + 32 bit
Storage: NetApp
View Agent: 6.0.2.2331487
Tools: 9.4.10.2068191
Persona Policy:
Manage user persona: Enabled, upload interval 3 minutes
Persona repository location: \\personashare.ad.xyz.com\Persona\poolName *Override AD user profile path if it is configured.*
Folders to background download: %appdata%\Thinstall, %userprofile%\Downloads, %userprofile%\Music, %userprofile%\Pictures, %userprofile%\Videos
I'll open a case with VMware again, though they have looked at it several times and couldn't find the root cause either. Hasn't been a very pleasant experience with persona management so far.
Any of you experienced similar syncing issues and were able to resolve them?
