There's no separate OS selection for Windows 2012 and the R2 version. If you have issues with installing features, it's likely an issue within the guest OS itself. What error do you see?

I have no errors in vmware I load the operating system with no apparent problems, I just load the iso in storage, in other ways not connected.
but when I go to add .net 3.5 with dism in windows I get the error:

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 6.3.9600.17031

Image Version: 6.3.9600.17031

Enabling Feature (s)
[=========================== 66.2% ======]

According to the MS Knowledgebase (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2734782) this could be an issue either related to permissions or corrupted files. A first step is to verify the integrity of the Windows installation image, did you already do this (e.g. verify the checksums).
