vShere client issue

Every time i am getting following error on Vmware client while i am trying to connect vCenter Smiley Sad It was working before. I have checked firewall and its disabled on my local system. does anyone know about this error ?

Call "ServiceInstance.RetrieveContent" for object "ServiceInstance" on Server "10.10.99.10" failed.

you aren't by chance using http:// in front of the IP address?  if so, try just the IP

Believe me i have tried everything. google...http://...https://  disable firewall etc... but no luck. If i tired from other machine it works! but its not working from my laptop Smiley Sad

Oops looks like you DO have the HTTP in front as previously suggested, use just the IP address by itself and this should work.

Believe me i have tried everything. I have tried with IP address only but no luck there. Since last 1 month i am struggling with this issue. I have tried all possible goooooogling on this topic.

I have tried all following combinations

ipaddress only

http://ipddress

https://ipaddress

ipaddress:80

ipaddress:443

FQDN

I have run netstat on VC server and found connection is established there on 443 port. look like its not firewall. is there any other way to debug this issue? any log file it create etc....

Did you restart your vcenter service?

I have re-install vCenter server. also its not problem with one vcenter. we have 4 VCenter server and its not working with anyone. But other users can connect vcenter without any issue.

also i have re-install my Vmware client not no luck. I guess i have to re-install windows.

What about trying to telnet to the port from your desktop?  It almost sounds like maybe this is some kind of application permission/firewall problem if it's working no problem for everyone else and never works for you.
