Hi,
i think i know the different KB about the timekeeping topic but i have a question.
To synchronize the guest time is better to use the vmware tools synchronization o maybe the ntp/w32time ??
What is the better option??
Un saludo/Regards,
Pablo

Course material hasn't been updated yet I guess. But this is the latest and official VMware Statement.

Interest KB article - not least because the vSphere ICM course goes on (and on!) about using vmware Tools for time sync with Windows.
Please award points to any useful answer.
Hi,
thank you for you quickly reply
The KB you say is one of the KB's i already know.
Ok,
in this KB about timekeeping in windows guest:
says this:
Time Synchronization
Use either w32time or NTP as the primary time synchronization utility.
and in the KB about the same topic but in the linux guest:
i think is so clear:
NTP Recommendations
Note: In all cases use NTP instead of VMware Tools periodic time synchronization
After reading this two KB (before opening this discussion) i was so confident about the better choice is to use w32time/ntp synchonization but somebody that is a official vmware instructor say me that vmware recommends in its training the vmware tools to timekeeping.
This was the reason to opening this discussion
Un saludo/Regards,
Pablo
