Use vSphere Essentials license for only 1 host and without vcenter

Hi,

for a little project I need to:

  • virtualize 2 Windows 2012 R2 server under 1 standalone VMWare ESXi host
  • have a support from VMware

I thought about buying a vSphere Essentials 6 license with 5y, 24x7 Support, install only 1 ESXi host and manage it directly with the vSphere client without installing the vCenter Server: it's possible ?

Thank you

No problem at all, you can manage the host with the old vSphere client, you will have the same featuers as the free version without vCenter though.
